Developed by Ericsson, Mobitex is an international standard, reliable, robust and secured two-way packet-switched mobile data network used for data transmission. Through the Mobitex™ network, we provide mission-critical mobile data services to a range of customers in the transportation, logistics and public safety industries. We have empowered taxi operators to dispatch millions of electronic orders to their fleet of taxis; delivered road traffic information to electronic messaging board along the island-wide expressways; and enabled remote monitoring of public utility services. Our customers include Comfort Taxi, SMRT Taxi, Land Transport Authority (LTA), Federal Express and Automobile Association of Singapore. NexWave (previously known as ST Mobile Data) commercially launched its public mobile data network in 1995. Based on statistics from the IDA, as at December 2003, NexWave is the leading public mobile data services provider in Singapore with approximately 90% of the market share, as measured by the number of subscribers.
